Pearl Izumi Attack Shorts - Men's Black/Mykonos Blue, S

When we first saw that Pearl Izumi is describing the latest model of Attack Shorts as new, we were a bit concerned. The Attack's predecessors have served us faithfully for years as a tough-as-nails training short that we weren't afraid to wear in any conceivable cycling situation, so we received the notion of change with some regret. However, we're happy to report that the change is minor, and it's for the best. Instead of the silicone gripping bands that previous models had at the cuffs, the new Attack Shorts use a folded over band of the same Select Transfer fabric from which the bodies are built. This is a similar construction found in more expensive shorts and results in less restriction at the leg openings. The bands do also include a silicone print for grip, but the leg cut-in from the elastic inserts is gone. Other than that, the Attacks are the same absurd bargain they've always been. Returning favorites in the shorts' construction include the Race 3D Chamois, which is pre-shaped to fit the contours of your body and has a slightly denser padding than the P. R. O. Seamless Chamois for those of us who aren't used to spending every day in the saddle. The advanced Pearl Izumi four-way stretch technology will keep the pad moving with you and wicking sweat so you won't have to worry about irritating, saddle sore-inducing friction. The shorts' anatomic eight-panel cut also returns unchanged, as did the Select Transfer fabric used throughout. Select Transfer is the foundation for all the moisture management fabrics used in much more expensive Pearl Izumi products, so you can be sure of standard-setting performance. The Attacks are finished with flatlock seams for all-day comfort and reflective elements to help keep you visible in low light.
